Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,
It has been a fabulous day at Chippewa and while it was a very “normal” day, lots of good things were happening. Here are the highlights…
- Today, four new Chippybats were officially named. It is a huge deal around here to be on our ski team, and these four campers have been working towards this goal for years. A huge congratulations to Chloe S, Audree G, Helen E and Jessica C- we are very proud of you!
- During regular activities, there were tons of campers achieving amazing things. Shira K got up and around the lake for the first time, Simone C caught a number of fish and many others accomplished great things throughout the day.
- This afternoon, we had Carly Leavitt, an alumni, visit. She happens to be a member of Lakeview 1998 (my age group) as well as a teacher at Edgewood Middle School in Highland Park. Many of her students are Chippies and everyone was excited to see her. It is always fun to have CRC alum come to visit, and to hear their stories from summers past.
- Tonight we boarded the buses and took a trip over to Ojibwa. It was a really nice social with lots of awesome music (Monster Entertainment). Campers and staff were happy to see their friends & siblings, and of course, lots of cute pictures were taken! The evening ended with a big surprise for the Chippies- we all got an Ojibwa t-shirt! The campers were thrilled and are eager to sport their new shirts soon :).
And that’s July 1, 2014 in a nutshell. These days are flying by and it is crazy to think that the Fourth of July is already on Friday! Thanks for reading, and have an excellent night.
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
