Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,
Another wonderful day has come and gone in Chippyland, and what a great day it was. Here are the highlights…
Tonight we had Tan & White Sandstorm. This is an awesome game that was invented at Chippewa somewhere around 2010 and has been a game enjoyed by all since then. Essentially, the teams are working together to get a pile of sand from the south end of camp to the north. They accomplish this using various means and it all ends in the Chief and Grand Sachems running sand and rocks to a counterweight apparatus rigged with a garbage container, and filling it until it touches the ground. The final scene is always intense with the entire team cheering on their leaders. This evening, the Whites pulled out the win!
In addition to all of the above excitement, we had a ton of visitors arrive today. Camp is full of camp alumni ranging in age from 15 to 21 years-old. We love when visitors come into camp for many, many reasons. First and foremost, we miss them and all that they add to camp! Secondly, it is so cool for young and old campers to see how camp friendships are maintained for such a long time and to see how truly strong of a bond camp friends share. Overall, we are thrilled to have these visitors here and are hoping that this might get them to return next summer ;).
And that’s a wrap for #CRC2014 today. Thanks for reading tonight and don’t forget to check back tomorrow. Have a great evening.
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
