The Sari Diaries- Saturday 7/19/14

Saturday, July 19 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Today was a special day for us at CRC! We had an action packed day and we are all exhausted (especially me ;)). Here are the highlights…

  1. This morning, we went a bit untraditional and began activities at 9:45am. After that activity hour, we had a short Songfest practice. Everyone is getting excited for next Sunday’s performance and the practices seem to be going well thus far.

  1. We next had an early lunch so that we could load the buses by 12:30pm to head to Kawaga. Not only was this one of our first daytime socials, it was also the first “Super Social” since 1999. Kawaga, Menominee, Ojibwa, Birch Knoll, Marimeta, Agawak and Chippewa all gathered at Kawaga to celebrate their 100th summer. There was food, inflatables, music and lots of fun all around. The Chippies were excited to see their friends and family members from other camps. We obviously were very well represented on the dance floor and overall, we had a great time!

  1. As soon as we got back from Kawaga, we had a BBQ dinner and then had to prepare for the next phase of our socializing. We hosted Camp Horseshoe this evening for a carnival themed social. There was a DJ booth with prizes, soccer, baggo, football, fried oreos, a bounce house, popcorn, and more. The Horseshoe boys are always a lot of fun and tonight they proved to be just that. We had a blast hanging out with them and it was the perfect ending to a fun-filled day.

So there you have it- the Chippies were social butterflies today. We enjoyed this day of seeing all of our friends from other camps, and now we are ready for some Chippy time for a while. Tomorrow is Cabin Day which should be a blast and then we have lots of excitement coming next week. Thanks for reading and enjoy your evening!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
