Dear Chippies, Parents Family and Friends,
First session is officially over and while is was a truly magical session, we are now super excited for second session. Here are today’s highlights from #CRC2014…
The BBQ was awesome. Their was a ton of food and everyone ate their fair share of ribs, brisket, chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, fruit and so much more. Families enjoyed this excellent meal together as they got a taste of what Chippy meals are like :).
I want to take a moment to express our gratitude towards this amazing staff. They never cease to amaze me and each day I feel lucky that we have this incredible group of young adults working with our campers. This weekend is no exception to this- if it is possible, they were even more impressive than they have been throughout the summer. The efforts made to ensure that all campers got to show their families their favorite activities was awesome. They were exemplary all weekend and I truly believe that it is because they have a genuine care for the Chippewa campers and our camp community.
After Visiting Weekend ended, I headed to Lake Lawn Lodge for a Chippy wedding. Susan Eglit, member of Lakeview ’99, married an Ojibwa boy :). There were tons of Chippies in attendance and we did a lot of dancing. Camp weddings, like camp friends, are just the best. Although we were all dressed up and not actually at CRC, the same comfort, fun and instinct to dance how felt existed among us. It was so nice to be able to be there for this special occasion and I love to be reminded that we are doing what we do at camp to help forge friendships that will result in Chippy weddings for many years to come.
And that’s about all from Chippyland today. Tomorrow’s kick-off to second session is sure to be incredible. The summer is flying by, but I guess that just means that we are having lots of fun. Thanks for reading- enjoy your night!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
