The Sari Diaries- Friday 7/25/14

Friday, July 25 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It was a day full of fun and activity here in Chippyland. Maybe one of the best Fridays of camp thus far! Here are the highlights…

  1. This morning, the Senior Sailing Team headed over to Kawaga for their annual regatta. This is always a highlight for our campers and they had a really nice time today. One of our boats came in fifth place and our team came in third overall. This was great preparation for the Chippewa Regatta, which is a week from today.

  1. After lunch, our junior teams went to Marimeta while our senior teams stayed here. We competed in soccer, basketball and tennis, and had a blast. Both our juniors and seniors won in tennis- their hard work definitely paid off! The girls were excited to see their friends from Marimeta and to show off their skills.

  2. For campers not participating in this afternoon’s intercamp, we had an open waterfront. We rented tubes and had three boats running throughout the day. Additionally, campers were on the blob, log rolling and hanging out in the swim area. It was lots of fun and the waterfront was hopping!

  1. This evening, we had our traditional Friday Night Campfire. The theme was Integrity and we honored Ed Kohler, who has been working with us for fifteen summers. He has been dedicated and is an extremely hard worker. We were thrilled to have his family join us for dinner and the campfire. The campfire was led by Melissa S and it was overall a really wonderful Friday night.

And that is about all for us here at #CRC2014 today. We are all looking forward to Jenny Day tomorrow and are excited that five members of her age group are here to celebrate with us. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful night!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
