The Sari Diaries- Saturday 6/7/14

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We are officially in the single digits…only nine days until June 16th! Here are the highlights from today…

The staff had a much deserved day-off which was filled with a bit of sleeping, lots of eating and a good deal of bonding. Most of the staff ate at a local favorite, Wolf Pack, for breakfast. They enjoyed some very delicious pancakes and drank coffee/hot chocolate out of the very cool mugs. Afterwards, there was a big group trip to Walmart in Rhinelander. Walmart is always a staff favorite hang-out spot, and today was no disappointment. From there, many of us went to the 19th Hole and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and some yummy ice cream. We are now hanging out in the office and looking forward to the arrival of about ten new staff later this evening.

In other exciting news, Abby Zemach, the 2014 Activities Director and Ten Year girl went home to accept a big honor. She received the Girl Scout Gold Award which is an extremely prestigious award that requires a great deal of commitment to the Girl Scout program. We are very proud of her and feel lucky to have a staff member who is so dedicated to doing good things for others.

In preparation for Sunday breakfasts, we bought three new omelet pans and spatulas. The eggs to order, specifically the omelets, are sure to be better than ever with these excellent purple, non-stick pans!
Today’s weather update: While we have been very lucky over the past couple of weeks with incredible weather including lots of sun, temps in the seventies and very little rain, today was a bit different. We had to bundle up in our sweats because it was quite cold. The sun didn’t really show up, but instead, the rain periodically came down. The good news though is that it is supposed to be a summer full of beautiful weather, so we will take this one not-so-nice day weather wise. Don’t worry though, it was still “A beautiful day in the Northwoods!”
