About our camp
Chippewa Ranch Camp is a non-competitive environment offering four or eight-week sessions. Our philosophy is two-fold. We want the girls to take pride in learning new skills but equally important; learn to live cooperatively, exercise tolerance and build friendships with people from all over our country, as well as other countries.
We believe that at Chippewa, each camper will find the opportunity to see her own strengths and find a greater sense of self through community living. We realize that not every child is an athlete, or a dancer, or a horseback rider... and that's the true goal of Chippewa: to let every camper find her niche in a low pressure but encouraging atmosphere.
About our camp
At Chippewa the bond that develops between our campers is truly unique. For many years Chippewa has retained the reputation of being a camp which brings its girls back summer after summer. Why do they come back? Most importantly, to be with their Chippewa sisters. Camp Location Chippewa Ranch Camp for Girls is located on the border of Eagle River and St. Germain, Wisconsin . We are 350 miles north of Chicago , and just 40 minutes south of Lake Superior and Michigan 's Upper Peninsula! Click on here for specific driving directions.
About our camp
Chippewa is situated on a beautiful wooded property with 1/3 mile of waterfront. Chippewa takes only 160 campers per session ranging from age 8-15. Our campers come from all over the United States and Mexico, and are culturally diverse. We do not practice any specific religion, but do have a Friday night campfire that is a quiet time to reflect with poetry, song and a ceremony in which campers and staff can come up and thank someone for an act of kindness that prior week. All four of the directors live on the campgrounds throughout the entire summer, and there is at least one director there at all times.
About our camp
For transportation to camp, we charter Coach USA Bus Service for people in the Chicago-Milwaukee area. We also have many girls that fly in from other states, many choose to fly to Chicago and ride the buses with the other campers, and others who choose to fly directly into Rhinelander Airport via Northwest Airlines. This airport is about 30 minutes from camp. Both our four and eight week campers will have round trip transportation available.
