Speeding Up to Wind Down...

Dear Chippewa Parents,
I wish I could say that we had another two weeks of camp! I hate to sound like a broken record, but the speed by which this summer has passed is amazing. This session especially! This is around the time that we remind our campers to make the absolute MOST of their time here. Last chances to ski, get up the wall and pass out of Blue Cap, etc… are now. More importantly this is the time to mend any cabin conflicts, do some intense cabin bonding and to take in every last second. Soon the girls will be sitting in class and no doubt daydreaming (non disruptively of course) about canoe trips in the rain, midnight “raids”, Tan & White cheers in the lodge, silly Chippy Awards, fireworks in Three Lakes, feeding horses at the stables, Planet teams on Kahuna Day, Nation teams on UN Day, the feeling of pride after Song Fest, sitting on the platform at the top of the climbing wall, zipping off the climbing wall, night trips to Cathys for ice cream, hanging birthday decorations in the lodge, listening to the beautiful sounds of thunder over the lake, enjoying the loon’s call, flashlight wars, the great times and not so great times, the friends, the fun and the lessons learned. Man did time fly. That said:
THERE’S STILL PLENTY OF CAMPING LEFT!
This weekend we ran our two musicals (Cinderella and High School Musical 3), we had the ski and riding show yesterday with Timberlane, and this morning was Miss Rodeo! Here’s what’s still to come:
Tonight- Chippy Awards put on by Lakeview! They’ve been working so hard!
Tomorrow- The final Staff Show and last FULL day of activities
Wednesday- Pony Express and Request Night
Thursday- The last key log ceremony and Final Banquet!
Friday- bye bye!
Some bus info-
The buses will leave here at 7:45 am on Friday morning. They should arrive in Milwaukee at the Brown Deer Road Exit between 12-1pm. They will be at Timber’s old Restaurant in Highland Park by around 2:00pm. Please be patient as there are several factors that could slow down or speed up arrival.
Lisa and I would once again like to thank you all for your trust in us this summer, and we hope & trust that your girls had a blast! We really enjoyed having them at camp and are looking forward to yet another great season in 2010!
All best,
